My favourite is the gerbera (daisy). They are so bright and beautiful. When my mum turned 50 I gave her the same number, and again when she turned 60. En masse, they are just stunning.
They last forever as cut stems but, sadly, I don't have any luck growing them myself or keeping alive the potted ones I've been given.
