My Dear Ms. Alford, First let me thank you for your kind comment. You bring to half a dozen the number of people across three sites who have found this interesting. I began this project, and will continue it, in an effort to help nice folks I have met on-line gain a little extra publicity. "A little" is as accurate a description as I have ever penned. This began as two posts on my own blog, http://steampunkjack.weebly.com/blog/. After five people commented, I posted them both on my blog at Goodreads, where two of their 23,000,000 members found time to say something, not to the authors, but in a note to me saying it was a good idea. I brought it here last, thinking that half-a-million aspiring writers would appreciate what these newbies are going through, and have a word of encouragement, or a question to ask, but the history wherever they appear is that quite a few people look, but no one finds them interesting enough to move them to comment. As you might imagine, this has been quite discouraging; perhaps I need to change my deodorant... In view of the fact that you have offered yourself as a subject, all of the above is offered in the interest of full disclosure. I will be happy to add you to my list (I think my next opening is in May) as long as you understand that this is very much not the big break we're all hoping for. My hope is for this to become a recognized feature in the future, build up a following, and become a place aspiring authors want to visit, but right now when I post a new interview, the sound of crickets is deafening. I'm going to continue it in the hope that it will attract an audience, but so far, no good. So, thank you again for taking the time from your busy schedule to offer an opinion. Shall I put you on the list? |
