WDC's Longest Running Blog Competition - Hiatus |
** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** DAY SIXTEEN So everybody knows - People who are eliminated are not necessarily OUT of the challenge all together. They will still receive the daily prompts and updates, so they can (if they wish) include these prompts in their blog entries. An eliminated player will not be allowed to post in the 30DBC forum, and will have a 'strike out line' drawn through their name. And after putting myself in this difficult position of choosing our first blogger to eliminate, I may be able to enlist the help of an eliminated player going forward in the competition. That's not so bad, right? Then why is it so difficult for me to pick the one to be eliminated? Because you're all so nice. That's why. When ever Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, and inventor of lightning, was faced with making a difficult decision, he would draw a line down the center of a page of paper. He'd then write all of the 'pros and cons' of the matter at hand, on opposing sides of the line. After he thought about all he could think about, he counted the line items on each side, then made his decision by choosing the side with most line items. That seemed like quite a bit of work, so what I did was...I assigned each blogger a number, then I rolled the virtual dice, and blammo! We have our first eliminee. (Ha! I just invented a new word, take that Benjamin Franklin) In my best Donald Trump impersonation: Lyn's a Witchy Woman "You're ELIMINATED. Say goodbye to your teammates and the rest of the challengers, then leave the competition." (No offence, Lyn, I'll contact you about helping me out ) Whew! That was tough. Things are going to move fast from this point forward. There will be another elimination tomorrow night. I will get the help of an impartial judge to help choose the next eliminee. I saw a local newspaper ad today for a shop named: The Broom Closet, it's described as a witchcraft supply store. I've never heard of such a shop before, and I'm intrigued. Prompt for February 16, 2015: Would you go visit such a shop? Why or why not. - Bonus Question: Do you know of, or have an idea for a unique, or trendy shop? I will direct my judging assistant to award one blogger a Merit Badge, and eliminate one blogger by whichever means or measure they choose. Good luck to you all.
