Character: Bernadine Harris
She is a strong woman: intelligent, creative, a loving mother who loves her family, knows what it means to be a friend and to be supportive of her friends as her marriage falls apart. She is a woman of color who is an example of what it means to overcome in adversity. It's this character and what becomes of her that I'd want to play in a film adaptation.
