Hi! Welcome to WDC!

I'm looking forward to reading some of your poetry!

Be sure to fill out your BIO block in your portfolio. There's also a biography tab you can click on and fill out. It's interesting to meet other members and read a little about them. We're like a big family in this community! If you have any questions or concerns, be sure to ask any of us. And what one may not know the answer to, another will.

You can also read through "Writing.Com 101"  which will most likely inform you of many questions you might or will have.

Gift Points (GPs) are something you'll probably be interested in, too. You can buy them, of course, but you can also earn them. Most contests award winners with awardicons, merit badges (MB), and GPs. You can also earn them by doing requested reviews. And if you join a review group, they will pay you in GPs to review. It all adds up.

A daily contest to try is "The Writer's Cramp" . They award 10,000 GPs per day to the winning entry! That is a lot. Just make sure you follow the rules though.

If you don't want to fill your port up with contest entries as of yet, you can also try your hand at my contests "The Prompt Me Contest"  and "Picture a Story CLOSED/UnderConstruction"  Neither of these contests require an item from your port. You may post directly in the contest's message window.

I see you like many genres. There are lots of contests and group activities that concentrate on individual genres. You'll find them to the left of your screen; just click on Things to Do & Read and then click on Activities or Contests, or whatever else you are interested in.
