Oy!
I hate introductions...

So, though I'm an avid reader, and easily devour 2-3 novels a week during the summer months, I'm a once-in-a-blue-moon writer...usually after I wake up from an extraordinary dream...which is about twice a month, come to think of it.

That doesn't mean that everything gets written down, or if it does, that it gets finished. In fact, I have a terminal case of writer's block that tends to kick in somewhere between the 6k-10k word count, no matter what I'm working on.

Still, when I DO write, I usually want feedback and/or advice, which I never find, of course. Tried Fictionpress years ago, and still have an account, but...well, hardly anything ever got read, and what did, hardly got reviewed...so not a lot of encouragement there.

At any rate, what spurred me to join here is, obviously, that I'm working on something. (Bet you saw that one coming) I won't be stuffing my sub-par writing down your throats anytime soon though, so don't worry. If I feel like this might be a good place to hang out, I'll try to do my part in reading / reviewing. (Can't expect something for nothing, after all, right?)

As for my genres, they mostly keep their feet planted firmly in science-fiction, though they can also include elements of drama, horror, and romance within such a broad container.

I've recently quit drinking (it's a big deal, Mmkay). Also kicked the cigs out the window. Here's to hoping my pickled brain can regain even half the vocabulary I've lost over the past 7 years.

If you ever do read anything of mine, you may notice I like to include lifelike character dialogue, which, funnily enough, I just read was a big fiction-writer NO-NO on some useless blog or other, and whose tab I closed with a swift kick...err...click of the mouse. I say NAY, I'm going to write however the heck I want...all I wanted from you was a quick punctuation guide!

And now that I've made this overly long, convoluted (that's my word of the day, apparently) post, I'm going to go sleep on it, and who knows, I might be back tomorrow.

Cheers

P.S. I collect carnivorous plants for fun and profit.
