You've been exiled to a deserted island for a year. In addition to the essentials, you may take one piece of music, one book (which is not the Bible you get that as a freebie) and one luxury item you can carry with you i.e. not a boat to leave the island! What would you take and why?' Since this was posted right out front, I'll answer it. My one piece of music would be the Fifth Nocturne, by I. Leybach. The one book I would bring is my own. It is a very long, fantasy story about good triumphing over evil - of course. The one luxury item I would carry with me would be a synthesizer keyboard so I could play the piece of music. (At least until the batteries went dead.) Music has always provided an escape for me when depression threatened to overshadow my life. Depression very nearly ended my life. When music wasn't available to play or hear, then I could write. I could insert myself into anything that I could imagine. Secreted away in another world, I could be the man I wanted to be and even become so much more than I already was. There were no limits in my secret world. My real life, some would say, was a living hell of sorts. So dancing to music that was playing or playing the music myself has been great therapy! Tavish McConach |
