A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
I'm probably going to be doing more research about this for the day. Somewhere I remember that most popular novels are written around an 8th grade reading level. I don't remember where I heard this, but I remember it. I think literary fiction is layered more, so it might be at high school or college reading levels, depending on the individual work and audience. So what I want to find is some reference that explains which work is at which level. I found that link that I sent to Brandiwynš¶ fascinating to learn that Twilight is on a 4th grade level, but it doesn't surprise me. Web Address: ransomnoble.wordpress.com This page has an average grade level of about 5. It should be easily understood by 10 to 11 year olds. This is my blog. I write a lot like I would speak, and it's understandable by a wide audience. But that's not enough data for me, so of course I'm going to be digging in. Thank you for piquing my curiosity! |
