I love this thread so much. I'm working on my first fantasy novel (read lots of them, never attempted writing) and I realize that I'm going a tad cliche with my characters, but I think it will all work out in the end. And if I have to change them, amp them up, in revisions, I will do that. Right now I think the main focus is to get our stories out of our heads and onto the paper (computer screen) without that pesky editor making her entrance.
