Working together like that is awesome! I'm not sure if I could do that on a long-term project, but I like the idea of it a lot. It's also great because you have two creative minds at work. I also absolutely agree with what you said about NaNo. We can force ourselves to comply with "NaNo Rules," and for some people that's a great thing. It provides clear guidelines, discipline that will help them focus single-mindedly on one task. I absolutely agree with you, though. The goal of Nano doesn't have to be to work on only one project, bit by chronological bit, until we've hacked out 50,000 words. We can work on more than one project, or a collection of short stories, or the same novel we've worked on for years and years. For me, NaNo is about creation. I want to write 50,000 words, but there are a lot of ways to do that. And even if we don't finish, we come away with something we didn't have before. |
