Or you can just ask her. One of the best writing tools I have for development of a character comes from a dream analysis book. It's called automatic writing.
So take a piece of paper and ask your character questions. Write down the question, then follow it up with whatever answer comes to mind first. Don't think. Even if what comes to mind is, "This is a stupid question." Write that down. Have a conversation.
Character:That's a stupid question.
You:OH? I thought it was pretty good. Why is it stupid?
Character: Well don't you already know the answer? You created me after all.
You: Just indulge me. I may have created you doesn't mean I understand you. I need to understand you so... (Repeat question and conversation until you get an answer.)
