Yep, many people need them, but I get jay's point - the 20th century noun doesn't have to be the PROMPT. More universal words that don't pigeonhole the writer would be ideal, and if you're writing a contemporary piece, you can add in all the modern verbiage you want. I do a lot of spec fic too, and prompts like "is your character an Apple or Android user" is just plain not twistable into something I can use.
