Noticing Newbies

Hello fellow writers. I've never been very good at these things, but here goes anyhow.

I'm Brandy or MontyB from Ohio. I've been a writer for most of my life, though I've allowed a few things (college, jobs, kids) to take precedence. This past year I've decided that writing is my vocation and I'm actively pursuing a career. I hate introductions as they feel so formal, like a job interview or first date, but I'm hoping to get a lot from this site. I have a great group of friends who are willing to read for me, but I know that they'll quickly tire out (I've seen it happen with my latest story) and as they are emotionally invested, I'm not sure they'll be as brutally honest as I need them to be.

I'm excited to be here for the opportunity to have my work read by other writers as well as to help others with their works. I'm an avid reader as well and read all kinds of fiction. I tend to write more realistic fiction and read more in the paranormal romance. Someday I may venture into that category as well, thought right now this is what calls to me.

And, as you can see, I have a tendency to drone on. I'm excited to be here and look forward to being a part of this site.
