Noticing Newbies

Hi everybody, I'm a rookie writer, completely new to it. I like to think of myself as the creative person, however I'm dyslectic and English is my secondary language so it won’t be easy. That being said, I don't mind a challenge and I'll try to contribute my part in writing. We'll see how far I pull it, but friends of mine have been pushing me a lot to start my writing, after I told them parts of my story. I'm a bit scared though cause it's extremely dark. I've written out a summary for my story and working on the characters, however I'm only planning on writing short stories on here for practice sake.

My main reading interest is sci-fi, however, got a few stories in my head that aren't really sci-fi... (favorite writer is Robert Heinlein)
