Hi! Is this seat taken?
Hey there,

I'm a professional stage actor "living the dream" in NYC having just completed my MFA in Acting this past fall. Now I'm out there pounding the pavement, singing my sixteen bars, hoping to soon be paid for my life's main craft.

Aside from performing, I'm also a fledgling writer. For the past 10 years I've been working on a very personal and honest memoir about my struggle and recovery from meth addiction and my experience in the Party-And-Play gay hookup scene in New York City.

I would like to begin to move toward my goal of publishing by first finding a supportive writing community where I can put my work, flaws and all, out there for honest review.

While I strive to be painfully honest with my experiences, I also want the my story - which includes highly drug-charged sexual situations and painful events - to be digestible because, at the end of the day, I want/need to share my story.

I also look forward to participating in reviewing others work. Though I believe myself to be a newbie at writing, I believe my theatrical experience to be quite valuable in identifying the elements of good storytelling.

So that's a bit of me.

Thanks

John Cormier-Burke
