Noticing Newbies

Hello Ai,

Even if you think you remember it differently, free accounts have been limited to 10 items for a long time. I've been on the site since 2008, and I never knew it any different.

Earning enough gift points for a basic membership is not very hard, even for one year. Spend some time reviewing, find some items that offer extra rewards for reviewing, and before you know it, you will have killed three birds with one stone.

You will have the gift points you need.
You will have met many members through their writing and create a nice environment for yourself.
Hopefully, through reviewing, you'll learn some too. I always learn something for my own writing when I review. A new word, something strange that makes me want to look it up ... you name it. And many times, I am also entertained.

So, don't think anything has been taken away. If anything, this site has just exploded with cool stuff to see and do over the past months. Shake off that first negative feeling and go forward with positivity. And ... actually, there was one change, but not last year. I think it was the year before. The item size (even for items in free accounts) was doubled. One item went to fitting about 20,000 words to fitting about 50,000 words so that NaNoWriMo participants could have free accounts and not use up all their space for one body of work.
