Noticing Newbies

I don't think I'll have much luck if I contact our server hosting company and say: "Hey! We pay for a lot of hosting; it's unfair that you limit us to only what we're paying for. Be 'fair' and give Writing.Com all the space and bandwidth we want, for free!"

Perhaps you could look into getting this from them? I agree it'd be totally awesome. Maybe you could make a couple calls / send letters over to Dell or HP suggesting that all of our servers come with unlimited and free hard drive space -- and don't forget the RAM to support the database... For sure: If you can swing these things, I'm all over offering unlimited, free space to anyone who wants it ... we just need the bandwidth and hardware to support that.

In the meantime... As noted by Dawn Embers , active members of our writing community usually have no problems earning more space for their portfolios. We have groups like "RAOK Upgrade Brigade Group"  that are all about helping active members both get a paid membership for free. Those groups are supported both by a whole lot of generous people who love Writing.Com and its community.
