Create Book Entries from Static Items

I'd be interested in seeing a way to transfer a static item into a book item as an entry. I've seen people tidying up their portfolios, turning poetry folders into collections, etc., and it involves a lot of deleting, copying and pasting, and all associated reviews are lost. It would be really awesome if reviews could be preserved, but I'd imagine there are differences in the way entries and items are reviewed. Either way, I think this would save people a lot of time.
