If you are fortunate enough to have a warm, loving family, the loss of family members can be devastatingly hurtful around the subsequent holidays. The writer manages to bring the reader into her world in a way that is comforting and inspiring. I could identify as a reader and as a human being with drawing on memories to sustain us.
