Nomination for best collection/news group: "Invalid Item" 
This is without a doubt the best, the number one, the grand prize winner of all entries on WDC. I have read and looked at hundreds of items and have found nothing that even comes close to the level of thoughtful consideration, insight, and comprehensive information on what a writer looks for in reviews. Just when I think that PatrickB and his staff have reached the summit on the subject, he posts a new letter with yet more intuitive ideas for helping a writer get the most from their feedback. More importantly they help a would-be reviewer like me to understand what I should be doing.

Nomination for best short-story contest entry: "Real Down-Home Cooking" 
Oh my word, this story has everything you could want in a Halloween season contest. I couldn’t decide if this story was romance, suspense, or horror. But it gave me the best surprise I have experienced in a long time.

Nomination for Best children’s action adventure "Grand & Epic Adventures" 
This is indeed Epic

Nomination for the best romance/erotic short "Time for Disagreements." 
Okay, so sometimes I am a bad girl and like to read something with a bit of steam. But I am an adult woman over 45 am I not allowed? There are some good efforts on WDC but none any hotter then this one.

I read some other stories that were very good and worthy of nomination, but then I noticed they were not written in 2013. there is one more I want to nominate but I have to find it again. I will be back once I do so.
