Noticing Newbies

Hola, my name is Tanya and I'm somewhat new to WdC. I created an account in October around my birthday, but decided to become much more active when an anonymous donor gave me an Upgraded account, which I did not want to go to waste. I'm from Albuquerque, New Mexico, but I currently go to school in San Francisco, California. I'm still getting used to the city and the lights and the constant noise and the people.

I have been writing for as long as I can remember, and reading for longer. I began in poetry, then moved on to short stories via play-by-post role-play games, then fan fiction, and then to my first novel, which I have yet to finish editing and rewriting. Now, I'm working on my second novel with a bit more hope, but afraid I'll ruin it in my ignorance of how to write a story of such length.

My first ever fiction submission is being published in the next issue of Forum Literary Magazine, which is coming out in the beginning of February 2014. This gives me some hope that I don't completely suck. Either way, I plan to keep writing, because it makes me happy and releases the built up stories and characters inside me that might otherwise drive me to insanity.
