A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
Yes, I agree Fancy, it is difficult to think "outside" of your book when the back stories need to be so intimately related. There come points when sometimes I think theres no way I will be able to avoid referencing them and maybe that's part of the point. I'm afraid of all the back stories too because of how difficult it is to NOT write about your main story when you think of your characters PoV but find that they definitely give me more ideas to expand my book. And like Michelle says they seem to generate entire stories themselves that I have to force myself not to pursue right now as to not get distracted from Novembers Project. Lol It's hard to resist!! I envy those of you who are so far ahead sometimes though, I'd try to take advantage of the time to go back and edit/expand or actually write those "other" stories that arose from back stories to see if you get more ideas to flesh out your November Novel!! I'm usually one to try and get projects done as soon as I can to take advantage of the spare time but I'm trying to take it slow and stay focused on each daily task. My brain tends to get ahead of itself and go in a hundred different so being my first NaNoWriMo, I'm afraid if I leave too much time before Nov., my thoughts may wonder to other projects. ADD has both its advantages and its disadvantages when it comes to projects like this!!! Lol Good luck to you all!!! Hope you are all still feeling encouraged when you hit the rough patches!!
