shsheta I like your definitions of protagonist/antagonist. If I was to write a book about my life there were be many antagonists to my protagonist. They would include everyone from my mother to several teachers, to pretty much all of the kids in this one school I attended. My mother and the teachers just had paths that didn't flow with mine. The kids, were just bullies who enjoyed tormenting people.
I think that is true for all of us. We have true antagonists who think they are doing what's best even if it seems to us like they are deliberately trying to hurt us. Then we have the antagonist who if we stood back and looked at them from a different point of view still wouldn't make any sense other than a need to hurt people.
I think you get both kinds with Harry Potter, and they are everywhere.
