I admit that I do not read a great many romance novels. I've never really cared for them, except when they're written by Jane Austen or one of the Bronte sisters (sorry for the lack of umlaut), so my attempt to write one for NaNo is definitely a huge step out of the box. I have experience in writing love stories between characters, but I am mostly unfamiliar with the market. So...hopefully some of you read them more than I do!
Anyway, how often have you read of a male character being the POV character in a romance novel? Because of the structuring of the story, and the way the "shell" works to introduce the romance plotline proper, I have to write it from the male's POV. Or, more properly, a third character will tell the story in the voice of the male romance lead dude (yes, I am aware that makes NO SENSE) but still...it's definitely in MRL's voice.
So...to reiterate, i.e. TLDR: How often have you wonderful people read a romance novel written from the male's POV?
