Welcome to Writing.com, Mr. Walls.  As i mentioned to another newbie here, you've come in at a perfect time--tomorrow WDC will be celebrating its 13th Birthday with unparalled festivities and millions of gift points and prizes to be had. I understand about your desire for perfection with your stories. but allow me to offer something to think about regarding that. I was a lot like you in that respect. I wanted everything to write to be great before others could see it. I've since discovered more heads (and eyes) are better than mine. Writing.Com is a peer to peer writing site designed to help writers improve their craft. You really can't do it alone. There's a lot of wisdom and advice to be gained from your fellow writers here. Just remember that no matter what opinions--and that's what a review is--they offer, you remain in control of your work. Take it or leave it is the mantra. And you might just find one person with whom you can build a great writing rapport with--someone who'll be a great sounding board for your work, and vice versa.
