For the record (and I did vote, but I'm embellishing on my answer!) I really like the words character and tournament in the title rather than author, because to me it was about character vs character, not author vs author. Sort of. Anyway, I like the idea of a 'something-or-other Character Tournament' or 'The something-or-other tournament'. Just my two cents.
