I find it hard to revise as I'm writing. Rather than focusing on keeping your brain from producing the sentences, it might help to shift your attention to revision. There are no easy systems to learn proper sentence structure. I have found reading books on style and technique helpful, though. Reading quality literature can also influence your style, especially if you read mindfully and pay attention to the manner in which the author achieves their effects.
