Recently, I checked out Joe Hill and read a sample from both "Heart Shaped Box" and "20th Century Ghost." Joe is not a slouch but I've read better. Right now I've been perking my nose right along in reading a long short story by Lucius Shepard, entitled, "Shades." It's a Grabber! This guy drips with talent. I would like to master his wordage like a grim smile, a furrowed brow, and dancing eyes. But I am working and working to gain a thoughtful repose in the aftermath of literature. I suppose there's no rest for the weary, though. And I sure don't hope to crack heads with the Grim Reaper. --Just put a little ink into the blood of a gaping story, where the house doesn't only creak--but moves.
Thanks again for the tip about Tabitha King. Thrillers are a notch better than romance. I haven't checked her out yet, but I will soon, right along with Lucius Shepard.
