Hubby-watching-TV-while-I-write is my karma, too, as it has been since he retired. What I've come up with is, I write in half-hour sections. Then I look things over when he sleeps at night.
And yes, it takes about an hour and a half a day to two hours to write the daily NaNo daily required number of words, if I have a clear idea what I'm going to write.
Mostly I concoct the scenes inside my mind "in living color" while I do other things. This helps the actual writing go faster.
Sometimes I get in the mood and write 3000 words or so during a day, but that comes after I've already written a good number of words say, 30,000. I guess by then the novel writes itself.
