Nothing new under the sun, but if everyone who might have seen Planet of the Apes can't get that out of their heads, maybe you need a different reveal.

Can you dig to the bottom of why you want the reveal? Is that best to make your protagonist hurt the most, or is there another way that won't scream movie references in your head?
