What I found interesting is if I know when I sit down what I want to write, a list of the characters (especially new names), and some scenes in mind, it really moved fast.
I was under the impression I must be putting hours into writing - like the 4-day Thanksgiving weekend in 2011 - where I racked up word count, and not sure how I was going to plan for that this year when my schedule is so rocky, and my health gives me trouble at times.
Also the repeated belief that a 2000-3000 word day is great, and about as well as anyone should expect so if you fall behind a day or so, you're still in the running, but more, and you might as well give up. Not that any of us should plan to fall 3+ days behind, but there's no need to go into a spiral of despair at that point.
