October Novel Prep Challenge

How is it possible that we're not even a full week into planning and I'm already feeling discouraged?!

I feel like I need help with everything! I like my story concept, but that's about it. But I don't have a definite climax, I'm not sure who I would rather have as my main character, I don't know if I can really stand to make my antagonist a bad guy and my conflict just seems too broad.

Aside from that, the only time I actually have to write is early in the morning and its starting to get cold, so I just want to sleep (translation, I'm lazy). How can I balance time to write with two small kids and a husband who works all the time? I want to spend time with them, but I also really want to so this.

Not to mention I missed out on the contest round because I couldn't get up early enough to compete it on time.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me? I need help!
