What state does it take place in? Culture varies widely from state to state. Is it a small town where everyone is around the same age, the same race, and have nearly identical backgrounds? Or does it take place in a big city, where diversity is the norm? What kind of government does your setting have? Who has the power? What do people do for fun, and how does that different due to age of the citizen? What do the people eat there? Is his a "meat and potatoes" kind of community, or are they health conscious and eat organic foods? These are all things that make up a place's culture, even in the United States.
