My Pet

Brown eyes
touch my soul with
unconditional love—
given to her loving mistress
daily.

Her gaze
that seeks my praise
each morning when we rise,
companions in our exercise
each day.

My friend
who is my joy
for she is my sunshine
and makes me laugh with her antics
in fun.

Her sweet
disposition
has given me pleasure,
always bringing me happiness
inside.

Her love
is so special,
my precious gift from God;
she has brought me consolation
of heart.
