Daphne du Maurier and Patricia Highsmith are locked in a room with their characters Maxim de Winter & Tom Ripley. Lots of possibilities (including getting sued for copyright infringement). Does it end in violence, intellectual dialogue, or do they all just ignore each other? de Winter and Ripley are both murderers; du Maurier and Highsmith both had affairs with women; du Maurier is 14 years Highsmiths senior; Highsmith was reported to be 'difficult' and du Maurier shy. Ripley could murder de Winter simply because he is such a bore; Where to start!!!!!
