Trying to address some of these issues in my novel
I hope this is not too cheeky or off-topic, though the relevance of my project lies in the potential for raising awareness.

I could use some feedback on realism from people with experience of what I'm writing about (can be 'vicarious' experience through other people they have tried to help), and with their own fiction items that need reviewing, so I can return the favour.

My characters include suicidal children and GLBT teens. One is in the closet in the State she lives in now but was criminalised and registered as a sex offender in the State she grew up in, for being in love with a girl.

Of course, a novel has to be a story, not a soap box, but I hope my story sends a strong message into the public domain that the intolerance of youth sexuality and sexual attraction in general - let alone anything regarded as 'deviant' - is harmful to minors.

Perhaps it is just coincidence that, in the last ten years, intolerance and paranoia around puberty has reached fever pitch, and the incidence of self-harm has increased exponentially. Perhaps not. For more, see

Thanks to this 'published already' malarkey, I have to hide all my chapters, but if you're interested in mutual reviewing I can send you the links and the access key.
