Junia- I rose dazed and confused from the hard, stiff dirt floor, my head throbbing uncontrollably as I blinked my stung eyes. Half-consciously removing a large, brightly colored leaf from my thick hair, I excitedly turned around, "Chu, Wy-" but immediately stopped mid-sentence as my memory flooded back into my mind. They had gone. Vanished; nowhere to be found as if they had been swept up and carried away. Before I could let my heart sink, I swung my little, black sack over my shoulder as I hurried through two neighboring trees. "Off so fast?" a husky voice called from behind. I sighed as I turned around and quickly nodded at Hunter. "Come on, June. Do you really think that they would just leave you here; especially Chu of all people?" he smiled but his green eyes were sincere. "No." I grumbled, "I just need to freshen up." "It's about time." Hunter exclaimed wryly. I absently kicked a clod of dirt before I silently began to walk away. "June," Hunter's voice was hesitant as he roughly grabbed a hold of my wrist from behind. I whipped around, facing him as I glared into his dark green eyes. Beautiful green eyes that always mocked me-only me-when I was around. "Hunter," I sighed before allowing myself a small smile. "If you don't mind, whatever urgency you have to discuss with me will have to wait, I get rather irritated when I haven't bathed in days." I said as I broke from his grass, striding to where a bushel of young, pure white daises stood at the foot of a rugged redwood tree. "June; princess." Hunter addressed me exasperatedly as he blocked my path. I shook my head, annoyed as I pushed* him out of my way. Chu wouldn't have done something so rude; instead she would confront Hunter and talk to him instead of running away from the situation entirely. I admitted to myself as I emotionally fell but another voice in my head said mockingly, well you're Junia. Not Chu. I brushed my guilty consciousnesses from my head as I determinedly kept my fast pace, I just have to be alone. Once. Muscular arms wrapped around my stomach. Startled I threw my hand back but a rough hand gently pushed it down, wrapping his hands around mine. "You really don't want to talk to me, do you?" Hunter asked. "It's just...I guess I just need time by myself. Will you please at least understand my needs for cleanliness?" I sighed. "No." he said, his chest tense from suppressing laughter. I shook my head as I tilted my head backwards, "What do you want anyways-" but before I could finish, I lost my balance from attempting to swivel round to fully face him. Panicking, I firmly grasped onto his disheveled white shirt, pulling him down with me. Hunter's jaw dug painfully onto the bridge of my nose, his muscular body crushing me. Hunter quickly lifted his upper body from me, but was silent. His dark, bright eyes sparkled in a shock, saying more than words. I store back at him blankly, just as stunned. Wanting to push him away because the whole event seemed to cliche, I surprised myself by remaining still. Everything around felt still, frozen in place to capture attention to this one moment; the trees motionless with silence ringing in my ears. My stomach fluttered wildly as I gazed up at him, almost as if looking a a person I hadn't known for a few days now. Hunter lowered his face closer to mine, I peacefully closed my eyes as I relaxed my lips. "June? Your nose is bleeding! Here." Hunter said uncertainly. Opening my eyes embarrassingly, I found him towering over me, offering his hand. I suppressed a sigh as I weakly excepted his offer. A thud from behind caused Hunter to drop me onto the hard, stiff dirt floor before I was mid-way up. My back bruised painfully against a sharp, pointed rock. I glared to where Hunter had gone but my heart officially dropped when I saw who he was being transfixed to. For in front of him, was a beautiful brunette girl with light auburn eyes. Wearing my crown. And my heart turned angry again as I glared at the two of them. |
