WDC's Longest Running Blog Competition - Hiatus |
Hi Gang! I just finished my entry for the “What a Character!” contest, telling the intro of my “Army of Men and Monsters” from the point of view of a werewolf’s .45 Colt revolver- what a bunch of fun- Wish me luck! Going up against a bunch of good writers, some of you being some of those it’s competing against. Also, I was brushing the dust off of some old notebooks of mine, with a soft-tipped toothbrush mind you- these things are very delicate, being over seven years old, and looking at some old stories I’d written. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and light Horror/Scary, with plenty of Action/Adventure, are the common themes. Also, the main character tends to be someone whom is normally depicted as being a creature of evil- werewolves, vampires, dragons, and a few other such things. Needless to say, if you’ve read the stuff in my port, some things haven’t changed. So here’s your prompt for the 18th- Get out your old notebooks (or those stone tablets you used to write on when you were neighbors with Barney Rubble and Fred Flintstone ) and read them. After that, pick one of the characters, and write a brief Profile of them. List their Name, Occupation, Gender, Sexual Orientation (optional) and anything else you can think of. After that, write a short story about them, 2000 words, or less, (or more), though you don’t need to put down the word Count. So clear off those cobwebs, and bring that old character back to life.
