Hi Lorien. I suspect what you are asking requires a little advance planning on the part of the owner. Only the owner really knows what his or her financial situation is and whether they would be able to continue. If they can't renew for whatever reason, they should make plans to transfer group ownership (and resulting purse) to someone else.

A bigger problem exists if that owner is unable to plan accordingly due to medical reasons or some internet issue that keeps them from actually getting online for an extended period. I would hope that most group owners, especially those with lots of members and purses, would have some measure of helpful leaders that might help accountability.

I also suspect the SM would not always be aware of an individual in the latter situation that he might invoke such a transfer of group funds.
