Just so ya know, Max is awesome.

I agree with the suggestions you've made here and I will be making edits to my online form once the results of the Gauntlet go live. In the meantime, I thought I would address some of the things that may be too opaque here.

Rena Nomula is a sociopath, though I specifically avoided the term in the story. She's not an unreliable narrator so much as very much a force of nature. This story set out to explore her warped worldview and to see how things would unfurl if I set her loose to tell her own tale. Hers was a tough head space to inhabit for any length of time and I am just sort of relieved that she does carry her own weight. Dav Fairchyld is the protagonist of the main series of books. His relationship with Rena factors prominently in a lot of subtle ways, so it was interesting to see from her point of view one of the moments that defines them both.
