Forum for the Sci-Fi Writers Guild |
I agree completely--good craft makes good stories, regardless of genre. In some ways, the craft associated with SciFi is more challenging, since the world the author constructs must be plausible scientifically. I'd be delighted to have this be a place where SciFi authors exchange reviews and discuss craft. While I love reading SciFi, I find that my stories tend to be more urban/contemporary, but sometimes with a speculative element. So, I probably won't be posting what most of us think as SciFi, but i'm happy to read and critique it. I have a question. I'm in a number of author critique groups. In these, we post stories and chapters and share reviews by posting them in a common forum. Everyone can read and learn from the reviews, and they often generate discussions among group members. However, when I've reviewed things posted in this forum, I've not posted the review back to the forum. That leads to my question. What would you think of posting reviews (or links to reviews) in this forum along with requests for reviews? Max Griffin Please visit my website at http://members.cox.net/maxgriffin/ |
