Hey Bill! Yeah, it does seem like sci fi seems to get the short end of the proverbial stick around here, I think there is a lot more focus on fantasy because sci fi is perceived to be more challenging, or something. And most sci fi discussion trends toward tech, not humanism. I write mostly action/dark/minimalist stuff in the tradition of, "The tech allows the characters to play out scenarios not possible in contemporary realism," and I get really bored with speculation about whether or not "warp drives are possible" type conversations. I can get that anywhere on the internet, I want a place to talk craft and characterization... Maybe we can make that this place?
