I just saw it today - sigh - I was a bit disappointed, actually! Too much veering away from the book ... sometimes when there was no need to ... and the 3-D stuff didn't come through properly, not sure if that was a technical nuance at the theatre I saw it at, or that's the way it is. My favourite scene was Harry & Dumbledore at "King's Cross". Maryann - Harry doesn't die because he doesn't try to defend himself, apparently that is deeper magic than the killing curse. So Voldemort only 'kills' the Horcrux that is in Harry. NO - Snape is NOT Harry's Dad. Snape and Lilly (Harry's Mom) were neighbours as children, Snape was the first to discover she's a witch. He has loved her since then, she doesn't reciprocate but is friends with him for a while - then as he grows in Hogwarts he has 'Dark' friends she gives up being friends with him. He continues to love her though. A Patronus is what is nearest to one's heart, Harry's is a stag because his Dad as an animagus transformed into a stag. Snape's is a doe because Lilly's is a doe and he loves Lilly. I guess Hagrid was spared by the luck of the draw! Hope this helps - and doesn't increase the confusion! |
