(Wow! Where do I begin?)

The Bible – I recommend this for all readers. It can be found easily and in many versions, but with one message and one author: God.

Miss Bishop, by Bess Streeter Aldrich, is a very well-written book with a clever storyline. It made me laugh and cry.

Alistair MacLean is a very favourite. He specializes in the genres Action/Adventure and Suspense/Thriller, with a dash of satisfying romance. He was in the Navy during World War Two, which makes his war and sea books shine above the others.

I recommend his books for 13+ – I loved them as a 'young adult'.
