antique sunlight slants in through a skylight
only barely opaque enough
to admit the color of burnt orange

the sound of a rusty hinge
the whoosh of fresh air through a door
unopened in a year.................

(muffled sounds as if struggling with bailed and billowed haystalks)
- or stubborn mattresses that refuse to fall down stairways
upon command -

after which, upon finally staggering into the room,
after giving up the struffle -

Ya just gotta love all those wild puffs of dust,
raised by the handclap action of this particular
Standing Ovation -
(the last poem disappeared into the delete pile)
Hope this one survives........
they can be endangered species around here.

I don't so much review 'em...as much as try to
keep them a little good company.

This one grew on me - about as delighfully subtle
as the suppressed smile
that will finally not be denied.
(and remarkable in its insights)
Photos freeze us in time
we have the evidence of that -
but, as we don't live in ditital scope
or celluloid fiber -
we are brand and newly different
each shutter-click of time............
