yeah, it would be more consistent that way, but also more potentially lethal, depending on what mischief the users could get up to, right? But why think of {cell} or {row} as open-close tags? Granted, that's what they are in HTML and how they'd be implemented therein - but, conceptually, need they be? WritingML already has non-closed codes: {indent} without an {/indent}. Or all the emotes. Even HTML has this (or had - maybe this has changed?) <BR>, right? Line break? So why not "cell break" and "row break"? I agree with you, it's hardly an "elegant" solution that I've proposed. But, from a protect-the-pages-from-the-users'-errors point of view, I think it's a robust one, which may justify the clunky HTML it produces. Ah well, enough meandering. Blithering like this means I ought to finish putting topical anti-fungal medicine on the ring-worm plagued kittens (once they settle down enough) and go get some sleep! ![]() LP |
