MC ABOUT HOUSTON: George Lasher

Mr. Lasher's note ===

Date:8/27/10 @ 1:31pm

Hey Teff, (ADDING: ATTENTION ADC!!!)

Enjoy the last gasps of summer.

Here's the latest from down Houston way...This weekend, sponsored by the Houston Writers Guild, Christie Craig, a successful Romance author (published at least 6 novels to date) is conducting a mini workshop on how to write those steamy love scenes. She recently published book on the same subject called, Just Shut Up and Kiss Me!

On October 9 The Houston Writers Guild is sponsoring a writers conference at which 5 literary agents will be there, ready to hear area authors pitch the merits of their stories in hope of gaining representation. The scheduled agents are, Michael Larsen and Elizabeth Pomada of the Larsen-Pomada agency, Jon Sternfeld of the Irene Goodman Agency, Nicholas Croce of the Croce Agency, and Jennifer Mattson of the Andrea Brown Literary Agency, Inc.

I am honored to be the conference MC. After the opening announcements, I will moderate a panel discussion with the agents. When the panel discussion ends, Michael and Elizabeth will be teaching a class about what we as authors can do to make ourselves irresistable to an agent or editor. In addition, Sam Havens will conduct a workshop on techniques for the successful novelist and screenwriter.

For further info on prices to attend, please take a look at the Houston Writers Guild website. www.houstonwritersguild.org

Last but not least, one of my short stories, The Blooper, will appear in Slurve Magazine, Slurvemag.com next month and I have recently completed a 4600 word short story called Peripheral Vision, for which I would appreciate reviews.

"Welcome to my imagination."

This sounds soooooo interesting! Good luck, friend and ENJOY!!! I'd fly out there in a NY minute but alas ... well funds for air fare are a bit lean as in non-existant.

Congrats on the publication. NICE!!
