1st person can be challenging, as it leaves you stuck only being able to see what the character sees. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. In 1st, in order for the reader to realize the truth about her dead friends, she will have to realize it, and tell the reader, whereas in third, you can play with the weird incongruities in her behavior and perceptions vs. real life, and selectively reveal parts of reality vs. her delusion as the story progresses.
