This website is laid out a little different than most, and it took me a little bit to get the hang of it as well. For all your basic stuff, if you look up at the top of the page, you will see "Getting Started", "Writing.com 101", and "F.A.Q.". Those three items are full of alot of the basics you need to know to get started here.
