Noticing Newbies

To introduce myself, I fell in love with in junior high. A teacher gave me a notebook to write in and had told me to write whatever I wanted. From that point through college, I loved writing poetry and have written a short story. Since completing my college degree, I've had quite a bit of extra time and a job that lacks mental stimuli. Because of this, I have begun working on what may be my first novel, of which I have posted a chapter on here. Please read and offer any honest suggestions. Many thanks.
